Professional competence must evolve alongside changes in business, technology, regulation, leadership and society.
The CIMS Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Framework provides members with opportunities to maintain, strengthen and demonstrate their continuing professional competence.
Recognised activities may include:
Different activities may carry different CPD credit values according to their scope, duration and assessment requirements.
Members are encouraged to maintain appropriate records of completed professional-development activities.
Where CIMS issues CPD certificates or digital credentials, successful completion may be recorded within the member's professional-development history.
Continuing Professional Development supports the Institute's objective of ensuring that professional recognition represents current competence and continuing engagement, rather than achievement at a single point in a professional's career.
Approved members can access study materials, webinars and CPD-recognised content through the CIMS Member Portal.
