Entry requirements

To be considered for the CFM™ designation, applicants are generally expected to meet the following criteria:

Academic background

A bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in facility management, engineering, architecture, business administration, or a related discipline. An advanced degree, such as a master's or MBA, with a facility management focus is viewed favourably.

Professional experience

Substantial experience in facility management roles — typically in the range of 7 to 15 years or more — with a demonstrated track record of managing facilities across sectors such as commercial, residential, healthcare and education.
