Entry requirements
To be considered for the CMS™ designation, applicants are expected to meet the following criteria:
Academic background
An MBA, PhD, DBA, or bachelor's degree in management, business administration, organisational leadership, or a closely related discipline from a recognised institution.
Professional experience
A minimum of 5–10 years of experience in management roles, encompassing leadership, decision-making, team management, and organisational performance improvement.
Mode of assessment
Candidates are evaluated across several dimensions to confirm their readiness for the designation:
Applicants complete a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) form assessing their work experience and competencies. Evaluation is then conducted through a comprehensive assessment process, including:
- Review of academic qualifications, with emphasis on coursework related to business management, leadership, strategic planning, and organisational development.
- Documentation of professional experience, including management roles held, leadership projects undertaken, and key achievements in operational improvement and organisational growth.
- Assessment of technical knowledge and competence in management principles, leadership models, strategic frameworks, and decision-making methodologies.
- Completion of case studies or practical assignments evaluating the candidate's ability to manage teams, drive business initiatives, and solve organisational challenges.
